Clair Volk, Owner and President

Clair grew up in North Dakota and graduated from North Dakota State University with a BS degree in Agriculture. He is married to Kathleen, and they have three grown children, Ryan, Ross and Andrea.  Clair and Kathleen moved to Colorado in 1983 and started in the insurance business, later opening their own agency in 1987 specializing in employee benefits. Clair currently is a board member of Longmont United Hospital and past board member of the OUR Center, Life Choices Pregnancy Center and NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors). In addition, Clair is active with FCCI/Christ@Work, a ministry for business owners and leaders. Clair enjoys golfing, skiing and reading.

Aaron Salas, Account Manager

Aaron joined the Volk and Bell team in June of 2008. He works as an Account Manager in the small group department, where he aids brokers and their clients with any of their daily needs. His insurance experience started with a national property and casualty carrier where he worked as a Business Products Specialist. He has since devoted himself to help administer benefit plans, and to overall customer satisfaction. Prior to his career experience he received a B.S. in Businesses Administration from Colorado State University. He is currently an active member of the Boulder Area Human Resource Association (BAHRA) and remains active in the community.

Amy Essig

Amy Essig, Account Manager

Amy joined the Volk & Bell team in January 2006 as an Account Manager.  Her job has since expanded to include marketing and coordinating educational programs for the agency’s staff and clients.  Amy is available to answer client questions regarding benefits, day-to-day plan administration and employee claims issues throughout the year.  You can also contact her regarding the agency’s marketing strategy, seminars, and community involvement.  Prior to joining Volk & Bell, Amy worked in Human Resources for 5 years specializing in employee benefits administration. She holds a BS degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA.  Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Amy for Attentiveness and Enthusiasm.

 

Barbara Immele

Barbara Immele, Group Benefits Consultant

Barbara joined the Volk & Bell team in May 2001.  Barbara began her career in insurance in 1983 with a local agency that gave her experience with both large and small groups specializing in and placing emphasis on group employee benefits.  She has a BA degree in Administrative Management from The University of Northern Iowa and is currently a member of the Front Range Association of Health Underwriters.  Barbara’s current focus is working with businesses ranging in size from 2 to 50 employees.  Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Barbara for Thoroughness and Diligence.

Carol Janz

Carol Janz, Individual Health Broker

Carol serves as the Individual Health Broker with Volk & Bell working with clients to customize their individual or family health plans and consulting clients in transition who are seeking short-term medical coverage.  She is also appointed to offer medical insurance for international travelers.  Carol has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  She most recently worked as a sales development trainer and district manager with the supplemental insurance company, Aflac. Carol also has taught part time at Front Range Community College in the Allied Health Sciences department.  She holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Northeastern University.

 

Cindy Kirk

Cindy Kirk, Office Assistant

Cindy serves as an assistant for the office.  Along with supporting the Volk & Bell staff with their day-to-day activities, she is one of two people in the office responsible for answering the calls as they come into the office. You will find Cindy is committed to providing excellent customer service in an efficient manner at all times. Cindy joined Volk & Bell in April of 2005 after 10 years of being a stay-at-home mom and volunteering in the community.  Prior to that, she worked for many years as an executive secretary in the banking industry. Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Cindy for Responsibility and Diligence.

 

Claudia Maciuk

Claudia Maciuk, Group Benefits Consultant

Claudia joined the Volk & Bell Benefits team in August 2000 as an insurance broker for group benefits. Claudia works with employer groups that range in size from 2 to over 50 employees. Claudia began her career in insurance in 1978 with a national insurance carrier and several other group benefits corporations that provided her with experience and knowledge of both large and small group benefits administration. She has a BA degree in Management from the University of Phoenix. She served on the board of the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Longmont Area Economic Council on the Primary Industry Committee. She was the founder and first president of Colorado Managed Care Contactors. She is a charter/founding member of the Front Range Association of Health Underwriters and has served on the board in many positions.  She is currently President of the Colorado State Association of Health Underwriters. She has given presentations to a variety of groups on employee benefits and healthcare trends. Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Claudia for Sincerity, Faith and Diligence.

 

Connie Rankin

Connie Rankin, Account Manager

Connie’s career in the insurance industry started in 1985 at a local property & casualty agency.  She began specializing in employee benefits when she joined Volk & Bell as an Account Manager in February of 2000.  Connie is available to assist clients with day-to-day benefit plan administration including claims and billing issues, plan coverage questions and employee meetings.  Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Connie for Endurance and Dependability.

Judy Eccher

Judy Eccher, Group Benefits Consultant

Judy worked with family business ventures over much of her life. She has worked with insurance since 1998. Her experience includes health insurance contracting as well as life and health sales and service.  She also has additional experience in property and casualty insurance coverage. Judy has been with Volk & Bell since January 2004. Her combined experience gives her unique insight to the needs of small groups, including sole proprietors. She is very knowledgeable in the specific requirements for Colorado's "Business Groups of One." Judy is an active member with the Front Range Health Underwriters Association. Judy has served in leadership, teaching and worship with her church. She has completed advanced training with Exchanged Life Ministries. Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Judy for Contentment, Joyfulness, and Gentleness.

Kathleen Volk

Kathleen Volk, Financial Administration

Kathleen and her husband Clair began their insurance business in 1987.  Her focus over the years has evolved as their agency has grown.  She currently oversees Human Resources, finance, commissions and payroll along with two assistants.  Kathleen grew up in North Dakota and received her BS degree in Business Education from Moorhead State University in Minnesota. She has been a volunteer with Life Choices Pregnancy Center for 20 years and is currently serving her sixth year on the Board.  She enjoys skiing, biking, and hiking.

 

Kaye Pyle

Kaye Pyle, Group Benefits Consultant

Kaye joined Clair & Kathy Volk in August of 1994 to work on a part-time basis as an office assistant for Volk & Associates.  She stepped into account management two years later and over the next 12 years took on additional responsibilities as the agency grew,  becoming Volk & Bell Benefits, LLC in July 2006.  In March of 2008 she made the transition to the position of Group Benefits Consultant.  From assisting those performing benefits administration with employee education, new carrier implementation, and ongoing claims issues to assisting decision-makers with the process of making good benefits decisions, her expanding roll has given her opportunity to understand the needs of her clients as well as the sometimes different needs of their employees.  She works diligently to create benefit packages that will satisfy both.  Kaye is an active member of the Front Range Association of Health Underwriters and services primarily those groups of 50 to 400 employees in Colorado’s large group market.  Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Kaye for Boldness, Diligence and Wisdom.

Linda Rose

Linda Rose, Account Manager

Linda serves as an Account Manager working with the large group market and assists with client customer service, benefit plan renewals, new plan set-up and ongoing claims issues.  Linda has been employed with Volk & Bell for over 8 years and is committed to bring excellent customer service with enthusiasm and dedication to the client groups. Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Linda for Availability and Endurance.

Matt Anderson

Matt Anderson, Group Benefits Consultant

Matt joined the Volk & Bell team in May 2007 as an insurance broker for group employee benefits.  Matt works with employers ranging in size from 30 employees to over 300 employees. He provides extra value to his clients by providing benefit options that are competitive, flexible, and cost-effective using a strategic approach that fits clients’ objectives and culture. He follows up with custom employee educational meetings and communication materials.  Matt began his career in insurance in 2000 with a national carrier that gave him experience with both large and small groups specializing in and placing emphasis on group employee benefits.  He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from The University of Texas at Arlington where he was also a member and captain of the baseball team.  Matt is an active member with the Front Range Health Underwriters Association and the Longmont Chamber of Commerce.  He has given a variety of presentations to employers and employer groups in the area of benefits and healthcare trends. Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Matt for Gentleness.

 

Ryan Volk

Ryan Volk, Group Benefits Consultant

Ryan joined Volk & Bell Benefits in March 2001 and serves as a group employee benefits broker.  His focus is in the small group market, and he currently works with employers ranging in size from 5 employees to approximately 100 employees.  Ryan received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baylor University where he majored in Entrepreneurship and Insurance.  Ryan is Past-President of the Front Range Association of Health Underwriters and currently holds the position of Treasurer.  Ryan is also a member of the Longmont Chamber Ambassador program.  While at Baylor, Ryan raced on Baylor’s collegiate cycling team and continues in his racing endeavors as an active member of the Blue Sky Velo cycling team.  Through the Character First program, Volk & Bell has recognized Ryan for Responsibility and Honor.
